VISUAL C++
**Session 1: Visual C++ 4. 0 In-Depth: Reuse and Much More
Speaker: Ronan Sorensen, Micro Modeling Associates Inc., Bethesda, MD
Get an in-depth first look at how to make the most out of Visual
C++ 4.0, including the productivity gains that come through reusing
existing code as well as from writing new code. Many newly announced
features will be discussed, including Visual C++ 4.0's support for
quickly creating fast, powerful database applications through the
new support for Data Access Objects.
**Session 2: Microsoft Foundation Class Library 4. 0 Under the Hood
Speaker: Don Awalt, CDR Consulting, Inc., Baltimore, MD
Learn what's included in the newest release of the Microsoft
Foundation Class Library, version 4.0. Content includes tips and
tricks for programming with Data Access Objects classes, as well as
enhancements in OLE and OLE Controls classes and new classes for
creating OLE Controls Containers. Other topics include some previously
undocumented API functions.
ACCESS FOR WINDOWS 95
**Session 1: What's New in Microsoft Access (for Visual Basic,
Visual C++, and Office Developers)
Speaker: William Kelleher, Systems Environments Corp, Falls Church, VA
Microsoft Access, Visual Basic, Visual C++, and Office all share
the same database engine, known as Jet. Access for Windows 95
includes a variety of capabilities that will be of interest to
database developers working with any of these products. We'll look
at these new capabilities, including the Table Analyzer Wizard, which
helps developers split flat-file databases into multiple related
tables; the Performance Analyzer Wizard, which looks at common
mistakes in your database designs, and offers to correct them; and
replication management, which allows you to schedule the synchronization
of database changes between databases. We'll also discuss overall
enhancements to Jet, & provide an overview of the developer features
in Access for Win 95.
**Session 2: What's New for the Access Developer in Access 95
Speaker: Tracy Howard, Keiter Stephens Computer Services, Inc.,
Richmond, VA
Designed for anyone interested in database development, and
already familiar with Microsoft Access, this session will provide
in-depth coverage of the new capabilities of Microsoft Access for
Windows 95. We'll look at enhancements to forms building, the new
integrated development environment provided by Visual Basic for
applications, the new OLE controls model, Access as an OLE automation
server, replication, replication management, and distributing
applications with the new Access Developer's Toolkit for
Windows 95. Also, a special section on migrating your existing
Access applications to Access 95. Come and see the flexibility

Visual Basic 4.0
**Session 1: Visual Basic 4.0 Overview

This session will cover the exciting new foundation features
in the soon-to-be released Visual Basic 4.0. Topics will include
migrating Visual Basic 3.0 apps to Visual Basic 4.0 16-/32-bit,
new OLE Controls including the very cool Windows 95 controls,
Visual Basic 4.0 Add-ins, and building open, reusable objects.
**Session 2: Visual Basic 4. 0 Enterprise Edition

This session will cover the advanced feature set of Visual Basic 4.0
Enterprise Edition. Topics will include large team development with
integrated Visual SourceSafe 4.0, advanced Client/Server application
development, and 3-tier distributed application development.
Visual FoxPro 3.0
**Session 1: Object-Oriented Programming In Visual FoxPro 3.0
Speaker: John Petersen, Prosoft Systems International, Inc., Fairfax,

Object-oriented programming (OOP) is a major new capability
in Visual FoxPro. Used correctly, OOP can cut your development
time dramatically and improve the quality and maintainability
of your applications. This session will cover the principles and
terminology of OOP, and focus on how it is implemented in VFP.
**Session 2: Client-Server and Visual FoxPro 3. 0
Speaker: Frank Grimberg, President, Prosoft Systems International, Inc.,
Fairfax, VA
Visual FoxPro is a client-server product right out of the box.
Learn how VFP fits into the client-server world, including two
approaches to accessing back-end data: views and SQL pass-through.
This session will focus on the Visual FoxPro features that make it
an ideal client application
